Community Rights Initiative (CORI) is a training, research and capacity-building organization designed to contribute positively to the development process in Nigeria. CORI seeks persons with appropriate knowledge, skills, attitudes, social and emotional intelligence to work in its Port Harcourt Office and implement its programmes and projects, especially on conflict resolution, democratic education, sustainable development and other support services.

• Computer literacy is essential for all positions.

(1) HEAD, RESEARCH & PROGRAMMES
Responsibilities
• Supervise and provide substantive guidance, feedback and support to designated programme staff in refining the overall strategic direction of the organization.
• Co-ordinate the daily administrative operations of the organization and ensure that daily and weekly targets are achieved by the respective units and staff.
• Ensure that operational activities, projects, programmes and partnership relationships of the organization are actualized according to required project management standards.
• Ensure that research projects and publications of the organization (newsletters, magazines, monographs, special reports, etc) meet the required editorial quality in content and outlook.

(2) LIBRARIAN
Responsibilities
• Implement the daily research and documentation activities of the centre in line with its operational guidelines and policies.
• Develop a database on development issues and provide materials for policy and academic research and other research needs of the organization, its clients and the public.
• Manage the Sustainable Development Research Library of the organization in line with its operational policies and guidelines.
• Establish research linkages with academic institutions, public libraries, the media, government institutions, inter-governmental organizations, communities, non-governmental organizations, companies and individuals at local, regional, national, continental and international levels.

(3) FINANCE & ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Responsibilities
• Record and keep the daily financial transactions of the organization and ensure compliance with the financial control system.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget, project budget and financial statements of the organization.
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial statements of the organization’s project and services with appropriate financial analysis.
• Ensure the smooth implementation of administrative policies and guidelines of the organization.
• Monitor the organization’s financial and administrative performance and prepare accurate financial information and analysis for effective decision-making by the management and the Board of Directors.

(4) NETWORK MARKETING OFFICER
Responsibilities
• Design a marketing strategy for the Essential Bookshop and Publications.
• Market books, CD-ROMs and other educational materials and support services.
• Market publications at workshops, conferences and seminars.
• Develop a database of potential clients and customers (network list) for marketing of publications.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Head, Research & Operation: At least, a first degree in Social Sciences, management sciences humanities or other related fields with not less than 3 years working experience in a related position.
2. Librarian: At least, a first degree in library science, social sciences, management sciences, humanities or other related fields with not less than 2 years working experience in a related position.
3. Finance and Administrative Officer: At least, a first degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance or other related fields with 2 years working experience in a related position.
4. Network Marketing Officer: At least, a good Diploma or first degree in any field with 1 year working experience in a related position. Holders of WASCE, NECO and SSCE with good communication, negotiation and marketing skills can also apply.
