OIL & GAS- IT Director INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR
Our client is a Global Dealer in the Downstream Oil Industry.
They are in need of a self motivated team player to directly supervise the hardware, network and software staffs of the Information Technology Department to develop and maintain the systems necessary to achieve th organisational goal.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
- Five (5) years experience designing business information technology plans
- Five (5) years experience in architecture integration including authentication, authorization and access control
- Experience in network and system administration
- Good communication skills
Experience in people management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Management - Direct the activities of supervised functions in a coordinated fashion;
establish responsibilities and time frames to help fulfil the role/ company specific
- Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring progress; revise courses of action in accordance with results of such measurement and current conditions.
- Prioritize activities and allocate resources, balancing the short-term interests and the long term interests.
- Balance empowerment with control
. - Participate in or lead cross functional teams to ensure the continuous, ongoing and cost effective improvement of customer satisfaction, processes, methods, productivity and quality
- Exercise sound business judgment in carrying out expenditures, which are authorized by the Financial Plan.
- Ensure the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, records and documentation.
- Take action in a manner that integrates a general duty of care respecting compliance with the organizational’s policies.
· Project Management
- Lead the process of determining the information systems requirements of the Company and the project priorities, aligning technology with the Company’s strategic business goals.
- Direct the development and implementation of new systems and manage the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems.
- Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the hardware, network and software staffs of the Information Technology Department to develop and maintain the systems necessary to provide the company with computerized information to leverage its business activities.
- Analyze Information Technology Department work flow and efficiencies, instituting procedural changes to effect cost reductions and improve quality and productivity.
- Prepare progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals.
- Direct the preparation of short-range and long-range planning of hardware and software needs and communications systems and connections.
- Acquire, as necessary and as approved, and manage all computer hardware, software and supplies and communications systems and connections to satisfy the information needs of all employees.
- Ensure the maximum up-time of the Company’s computer systems and communication systems by ensuring regular maintenance for all related hardware and software.
- Oversee the negotiation and maintenance of the hardware and software service and contracts.
· Training
- Meet with users to evaluate and ensure that the applied technologies are meeting their needs.
- Oversee the training and technical support of Company employees to maximize their beneficial use of computer software and hardware.
· Human Resources
- Create a work environment where expectations, actions and work rules all ensure that safety is a fundamental component of Information Technology Department activities.
- Provide human resource management - including the establishing of job descriptions, hiring, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, promotions, discipline and termination – to all Information Technology Department employee-owners.
- Resolve conflicts and address complaints that arise among Information Technology Department.
